Curious about learning to sew but feel intimidated by your sewing machine? Join Lindsey Johns, owner of Inside the Hem, as she covers the fundamentals of using a sewing machine and shares tips to help you take steps toward mastering your new favorite hobby. In this introductory class, you’ll learn the parts of the machine, how to navigate your way around it, and basic troubleshooting tactics. Once you gain a comfort level with the machine, you’ll move into practicing basic stitches. By the end of class, you’ll have the skills to continue your sewing journey on your own with confidence!
Materials
Please bring your own (or a borrowed!) standard sized sewing machine. Don’t have one? Keep an eye out for suggestions linked in your confirmation email. Please make sure you have a needle, thread, and an empty bobbin.
Who Should Take This Class?
This class is designed for beginner level sewers, who are at least 12 years of age. No experience is required as we’ll be starting from scratch with the fundamentals.
