Online Classes

Do I have to be in a certain city to access SkillPop Anywhere?

No, and this is the best part! SkillPop Anywhere classes are open to all.

Are these live or pre-recorded?

Live! You'll engage with the class in realtime, ask the teacher questions, and chat with your classmates. Plus, in most cases you'll get a replay to watch later.

If these are online classes, will I be on video?

Nope! The platform we use for most of our classes is one-way, meaning that you'll see the teacher but the teacher won't see you. If we host a class with a two-way video platform, we’ll let you know ahead of time and provide the option to turn off video.

Do I need to download any software?

Nope! For the majority of SkillPop Anywhere classes, we use a web-based platform that you can log into with the click of a link (emailed to you upon registration). If you're watching the class on your phone, there's also an app you can use. If we do host a class requiring a software download, we’ll let you know ahead of time.

What if I cannot attend my SkillPop Anywhere class?

Great news! Our SkillPop Anywhere classes will be available to you after class as a replay. You can use the same link and password from your confirmation email to access the class, and from there you should be able to watch the video back. SkillPop Anywhere classes are non-refundable.

In-Person Classes

Will I get a confirmation email?

Once you register, you’ll get an email detailing everything you need to know -- class links, login information, recommended materials and more. Be sure to check your Bulk, Spam, or Promotions Mail folder just in case our emails are delivered there instead of your inbox.

What do I need to bring for my class?

SkillPop provides everything you need for the majority of our in-person classes. If no materials are listed in your initial confirmation email, you can just bring yourself! If you’re taking a computer-based class like graphic design or digital illustration, you’ll definitely need to bring a laptop.

Every time I try to get into a class, it’s already full! Can you help me?

Don’t give up! We are constantly opening new class dates, and we offer every most classes multiple times throughout the year. We push new classes live to our website every Tuesday morning at 8:00am, which is also when we publish our weekly newsletter. Email subscribers learn about our new classes before anyone else, so the best advice we have is to sign up for our newsletter here. You’ll get a list of new classes in your inbox every Tuesday morning, and you’ll also get the inside scoop for news or updates about all things SkillPop.

Can you put me on a waiting list in the event that a spot in a full class opens up?

At this time, we don’t do not offer waitlists. We suggest keeping an eye on our weekly newsletter or to periodically check our website to see if any spaces have opened up in class.

What is your age policy?

Our general policy requires that attendees are at least 8 years of age and those age 15 or under have a parent/guardian accompany them. Some of our classes do have specific age limits, so please be sure to check the details for the specific class you're interested in attending.


I signed up for an in-person class, but something came up and I cannot attend. What is your refund policy?

Life happens! We’re able to transfer your registration or issue class credit as long as we receive at least 48 hours of notice.

We are unable to accommodate any transfers or credits within 48 hours of class taking place, as the materials have been purchased and the teacher is paid based on final registration numbers.

That said, we’re always happy to let a friend use your registration! Just shoot us a quick email and let us know the name of the person taking your place so we can swap it out on our roster.

A SkillPop class would be a totally awesome gift for my friend/mom/uncle/mailman. Can I get them a gift card?

Absolutely! Gift cards are available in our Shop and are valid for any class up to $30, or for $30 off any of our other classes. If you’ve got a friend who likes learning new things or if you just want to give the gift of a local experience, you’ve come to the right place.

We love hearing SkillPop class suggestions and try to take them all into account as we roll out new classes. If you have an idea (or 10) for a topic that would make for a great pop-up class, let us know all about it by contacting us here.

We’re a small team, but we’re great at emails! We read and respond to each and every email request in a first come, first served order. Feel free to shoot us one through our contact form and we’ll get back to you within 1 - 3 business days. (Please note -- we always honor cancellation or transfer requests based on the time we receive them.)

Teaching & Hosting

I think I would be a great candidate to teach SkillPop classes! How can I make this happen?

We are always accepting proposals for new classes! If you have experience in a skill that you would love to teach/share, we’d love to hear more. Think of your class proposal as an overview of how you would like to structure and design a two-hour class. Great things to include in your proposal would be: an outline of the topic(s) you want to teach, what students should expect to learn, materials required (and cost, if possible!), and anything else you feel like we should know!

Once you’ve arranged your proposal, you can submit it here. From there, we will review it and see if your class proposal sounds like a good fit for our upcoming class schedule! Please allow 6 weeks for proposal review.

I’d like to apply to the SkillPop team and teach a subject that you currently offer. Do you have a need for more than one teacher per skill?

As we continue to expand, we love to have contacts in the event that our subjects call for multiple teachers. Feel free to reach out so we can keep in contact with you for the future.

I own/work at a venue that would be great for hosting SkillPop classes! How can we set that up?

We’re always open to scoping out great new spots to have classes. If you know of a sweet spot with availability for classes, feel free to contact us so we can chat more about it!
