Description

Always wanted to learn to sew, but never had the opportunity? Have a sewing machine that’s been collecting dust because you can’t seem to recall what your 7th grade Home Economics teacher said about threading a bobbin? Come get a grasp on the fundamentals so you can eliminate excuses and intimidation and make steps toward mastering your new favorite hobby. In this class designed specifically for sewing newbies, we’ll learn the parts of the machine and how to navigate our way around it, basic trouble shooting tactics, and how to thread a bobbin. Once we gain a comfort level with the machine, we’ll move into practicing different basic stitches, best uses for each stitch, and wrap up by sewing a basic standard pillow case.

Materials

Please bring your own (or a borrowed!) standard sized sewing machine. Don’t have one? Keep an eye out for suggestions linked in your confirmation email.

Who Should Take This Class?

This class is designed for beginner level sewers, who are at least 12 years of age. No experience is required as we’ll be starting from scratch with the fundamentals.
