Description

Curious about knitting but not sure where to start? Join Janis Ficker of Queen City Yarn as she shares everything you need to start your first knitting project. She'll chat through basic knitting tools and material details (think gauge, needle size and yarn thickness), plus she'll cover patterns and how to read them. You'll learn to cast on and practice basic stitches alongside Janis as you get started on a ribbed scarf. By the end of class, you'll have the skills and resources you need to complete your scarf and explore more knitting projects on your own!

Can't make it to the live session? Not to worry — you'll have access to a replay the day after class.

Materials

This interactive class will be held on Zoom, so we recommend having your camera on to get the most out of the class. If you plan to follow along during class, you'll need scissors, bulky yarn, a tapestry needle, and a pair of straight or circular needles on hand. We'll also send out a detailed list of materials and a downloadable pattern upon registration.
