Modern Calligraphy for Beginners

Want to try your hand in calligraphy, but not sure how or where to begin? In this 2-hour class, we’ll learn the basics for creating gorgeous modern pointed-pen calligraphy from designer and hand lettering artist Caitlin Baumberger of Happy Tines Design Co. We’ll learn the fundamentals when it comes to terminology, recommended pens and proper assembly; then we’ll get guided instruction and plenty of practice as we work through writing basic strokes and the lowercase alphabet. Plan to end this class with the skills and knowledge to continue practicing and perfecting your own modern calligraphy style for endless project potential at home and beyond!

To follow along with this class, you'll need a tracing paper, sumi ink, nibs, and a few other easily accessible materials. We'll send out a detailed list of recommended products upon registration.
